One of the pastors I follow, and I hope I state his position accurately, feels the tribulation period cannot become a potential reality until Israel is at peace and feeling secure. With the current government in Israel, their efforts to appease the Palestinians is causing more strife and instability. Amir Tsarfati has commented that this is causing factions in the Knesset to realign and possibly set up the return of Netanyahu. If this occurs, this would give Israel its best opportunity to achieve peace and safety as Netanyahu is not one to be pushed around. So my question or thought is…could a potential return of Netanyahu be the catalyst for 1Th 5:3? For when they say “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. Would Gog prefer to attack an Israel led by a tough Netanyahu or a weak Bennett? If a weak Bennett and there is a probability of government change, then timing of events compresses. And that then begs the question for the timing of Isaiah and Ezekiel…all interesting to speculate, but God‘a in control and everything will happen on schedule.
