The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Act I is powered by the manufacturer's caliber 1315, which has been serving reliably since 2007. link The movement uses a silicon balance spring and offers a five-day power reserve thanks to link its three-barrel construction. For this anniversary model, Blancpain added one special touch: link a commemorative engraved platinum rotor, visible through the sapphire caseback (70 years is the "platinum jubilee," get it?).
While I love a center-seconds hand, I do think the small-seconds display looks really nice on here and lends itself to the classicism of the third bit of excitement: the 8mm thickness. I never really considered the Alpine Eagle to link be a thick watch but it makes sense, given the sort of market Chopard plays in, that the brand would go for thinness in the AE line. Just how thin is 8mm on the wrist? It'll be on the trade show link floor this week at Watches link & Wonders, so we'll know very soon.
Thanks so much Pete for your recent interviews with Pablo and before with Tyler. I am partial to Pablo as a son of a warbride from Foggia, Italy. That makes me half Italian and in league with Pablo and talk with our hands too much.
Thank you both for these podasts. They are really helping me spread the word. So many that I know are asleep to what is happening and to what is about to occur. Please keep it up! It is making a difference!
