According to Moore's Law, the more transistors that could be put on an integrated microchip would double its processing power equalling more powerful, yet smaller, cheaper, and more efficient devices. Gordon Moore (co-founder of Intel) made this prediction in 1965 regarding the next 10 years. However, to date, this observation is still accurate and moving faster than I'm sure even he could have ever imagined.
Similarly, Buckminster Fuller, in his 1982 book "The Critical Path", noted that the amount of new information doubled every hundred years up until the year 1900, after which, that too had begun to be halved at an exponential rate until our present day. These days, our new information is doubling in months and not years. There has never been a time where the phrase "the only constant is change" was more apropos. I'm sure most of us here today are still doing our best to adapt to the ever-changing technologies that are being foisted upon us at a dizzying pace.
Although Neuralink and Synchron's race toward putting technology into the human brain is advancing rapidly, it still has an issue with information processing. Whichever system becomes the standard, it would need to be powerful enough to handle the amount of data processing that the human brain (on average) contains. For example:
The Human Brain contains several billion petabytes of information to index
The Internet contains around 5 million terabytes
The amount of Internet indexed by Google equals around 200 terabytes or .004% of the total Internet
Here are some numbers that should put the chart below it into context. Just remember the “doubling every 12 hours” statistic:

This shortcoming thus requires advancements in other systems such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing to make the brain-machine-interface (BMI) technology more accessible and pragmatic. However, given the exponential growth in developing these technologies, it seems not a matter of if, but when. In his 1999 book The Age of Spiritual Machines, Ray Kurzweil proposed "The Law of Accelerating Returns," in which he says:
An analysis of the history of technology shows that technological change is exponential, contrary to the common-sense 'intuitive linear' view. So we won't experience 100 years of progress in the 21st century—it will be more like 20,000 years of progress (at today's rate). The 'returns,' such as chip speed and cost-effectiveness, also increase exponentially. There's even exponential growth in the rate of exponential growth. Within a few decades, machine intelligence will surpass human intelligence, leading to the Singularity—technological change so rapid and profound it represents a rupture in the fabric of human history. The implications include the merger of biological and nonbiological intelligence, immortal software-based humans, and ultra-high levels of intelligence that expand outward in the universe at the speed of light.
Now, Mr. Kurzweil predicted in 1999 that this singularity event would occur around the year 2045, which back then, seemed far enough away to be within the realm of possibility. However, by 2023, that 2045 target when artificial intelligence surpasses human intelligence seems an awful lot closer to 2030 than 2045. With that said, the race to put technology into the human brain becomes even more desperate as many (such as Elon Musk) fear that the day machine intelligence surpasses human intelligence, is the day mankind's fate is sealed. For many, transhumanism isn't simply a passing fashion statement, but a matter of survival if humans are supposed to compete with their creation. These possibilities have both enthralled and terrified not just fans of science fiction, but also the very serious minds in academia, corporations, the government, and the military.
Regarding the last group, we all know that warfare is one of those unfortunate mainstays in human history. Our violent natures, or at least the tendency to commit violence, are a byproduct of our fallen nature. With that fundamental understanding of human nature, we should acknowledge that any technology, regardless of its original intent or purpose, can and will be weaponized. This reality is frightening in and of itself, let alone the dizzying pace at which this technology is advancing.
Assessment
I recently asked ChatGPT (i.e., Artificial Intelligence) what are the different kinds of bleeding edge technologies available in the world today. It replied:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML): Advanced algorithms for learning and decision-making. Deep learning and neural networks for complex pattern recognition.
Quantum Computing: Quantum bits (qubits) for exponentially faster processing. Quantum entanglement for secure communication.
Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering: CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing for precise genetic modifications. Synthetic biology for creating artificial organisms and materials.
Nanotechnology: Manipulation of materials at the molecular or atomic level. Potential applications in medicine, electronics, and materials science.
Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies: Decentralized and secure digital ledger technology. Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing: Layer-by-layer construction of physical objects. Applications in manufacturing, healthcare, and construction.
Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR): Enhanced real-world experiences with digital overlays (AR). Immersive computer-generated environments (VR).
Internet of Things (IoT): Interconnected devices for data sharing and automation. Smart homes, wearables, and industrial IoT applications.
5G Technology: Fifth-generation wireless technology for faster and more reliable communication. Enables the growth of IoT, autonomous vehicles, and augmented reality.
Robotics and Autonomous Systems: Advanced robotic systems for various applications.Autonomous vehicles, drones, and robotic surgery.
Edge Computing: Processing data closer to the source rather than relying on centralized cloud servers. Reduces latency and improves real-time processing for IoT devices.
Neuromorphic Computing: Mimicking the structure and function of the human brain in computer architecture. Potentially more efficient for certain types of computing tasks.
Now, to make this a little bit more digestible, I asked the AI to put this all in a hypothetical scenario to see what this would look like. It writes:
In a dystopian future, an authoritarian government wielding advanced AI surveillance, genetic engineering, quantum computing, and IoT technologies has tightened its grip on society. The regime employs AI-driven drones with facial recognition to monitor citizens' every move, while a secret genetic modification program identifies and suppresses individuals deemed potential threats. The government uses quantum computing to break encrypted communications, stifling dissent and maintaining control over information flow. Simultaneously, an extensive network of IoT devices measures citizens' behaviors, contributing to a pervasive social credit system that dictates access to resources based on loyalty to the regime. The convergence of these technologies creates a society where individual freedoms are eroded, dissent is quashed, and citizens live under constant scrutiny.
Doesn't sound all that different from today does it not? We know the People's Republic of China (PRC) currently uses many of these same technologies to control its massive population. We also know other nations and organizations are either adopting or are interested in adopting similar technologies to do the very same thing for their own citizens.
We also know this sounds an awful lot like the world of Revelation 13. Thus, if I could summarize the world described in that chapter into four main categories, it would be as follows:
Absolute globalism (by way of regionalism)
Absolute control (by way of technology)
Absolute loyalty (by way of worship)
The use of the supernatural to reinforce the first three (lying signs and wonders)
Point numbers 2 and 3 absolutely require breakthroughs in our current stage of technoligical advancements. Nevertheless, in this present dispensation, the world is held at bay by four main factors, the first of which is the staying of God's hand. He has not only set things in motion, but He has predetermined the times and boundaries of nations so that, as imperfect as humans are, we perfectly serve God's timing and purpose (Acts 17:26).
Secondly, God uses governments to serve as a check and balance against other governments and nations who might seek to overreach. This was established shortly after the flood and reinforced after the tower of Babel incident.
Thirdly, God uses people and organizations within nations to steer or stay the course of nations.
Lastly, He uses the Church to be the salt and light in a world plunged in darkness and heading for total destruction. And while it may seem the Church is of no effect today, Satan is powerless to stop it (Matt. 16:18-19).
The End of Status Quo
Consequently, as a result of mankind's recent, technological advancements in the 20th century, certain discoveries such as manned flight or the power to split atoms (nuclear fission) cannot be unlearned or uninvented. With the subsequent introduction of atomic warfare with the aerial bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, the US demonstrated that awful potential mankind had now attained too.
Now, as terrible as that event was, its propensity for total destruction has also been used to curb the world's appetite for a new world war since the conclusion of the last one. This has come about by way of the doctrine of Mutually Assured Destruction, or MAD, assuring that regardless of who starts a nuclear war, no one will win it.
Whereas this terrible technology was once thought to be safely and solely in the responsible hands of the United States, many other nations have come to acquire this technology by various means. And as soon as Pandora's Box was opened, the genie was out of the bottle never to be put back in. Technologies like nuclear fission and fusion, cannot be uninvented. Nevertheless, the unlivable awfulness of the fallout from a nuclear war has prevented nations from intentionally allowing conflicts to escalate that far...thus far. Unfortunately, the days of the MAD status quo have come to an inevitable end.
“During the Cold War we relied on mutually assured destruction (MAD) to keep American and Soviet nukes in their silos, wrote May. Is that doctrine adequate to constrain Kim Jong-un, a dictator whose grasp on rationality is difficult to gauge? What happens if Iran’s next supreme leader believes that to bring about the return of the 12th Imam, the Shia messiah, requires an apocalypse? Bernard Lewis, the esteemed scholar of Islam, famously said that for those who hold such beliefs — former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was among them — ‘MAD is not a deterrent, but an inducement.'” Clifford May
Mental stability and religious apocalypticism aside, there are other developments forcing change across the geopolitical landscape that are equally as compelling. Rapid advancements within technology itself are pushing mankind past the numerous points of no returns. Namely, artificial intelligence and swarm technology appear to be the most threatening.
The Power of the Hive Mind
Synchronized drones (swarm technology) represent the future of modern warfare. Swarm technology, drawing parallels with the coordinated movements of birds, fish, bees, and other animals, presents a decentralized offensive power that poses a significant challenge to traditional weaponry. The concept of swarm technology envisions drones becoming smaller, faster, more powerful, and cheaper to produce.
This suggests that as technology advances, nations possessing synchronized drone capabilities will have a decisive advantage in conflicts, emphasizing the historical pattern where early adopters of transformative technologies often gain dominance. The impending era of warfare is envisioned as one where conventional weapons face limited effectiveness against swarming drones, reshaping the dynamics of military power. Prophecy teacher and technology expert Britt Gillette writes in his 2018 article, Rise of the Drones:
Think about it. Charging columns of soldiers were effective once – until machine guns arrived. Racing soldiers on horseback were once effective too – until armored tanks arrived. We can all cite countless examples of new military technologies making tried-and-true weapons and tactics obsolete. The same will prove true with swarm technology. And it will completely transform the world’s current balance of power. Britt Gillette, Rise of the Drones
One Mark to Control Them All
One of the things that is unique about the time in which we live, is watching the powers-that-be weaponize things that historically weren't weaponizable. For example, money has come to us in many different shapes and sizes over the course of human history. It has been used as a standard medium of exchange (or payment) for goods and services going back millennia.
Starting with trade and bartering systems, money then came in the form of precious stones and metals. As urbanization increased, money was usually standardized by the respective kingdom in the form of coins that bore the mark of that particular government or power.
By the 12th century, the Knights Templars began what would become the beginnings of the private international banking systems we are familiar with today. Since then, money has been used for both good and evil, war and peace, and every imaginable form of transaction one could think of. However, what we see coming with respect to the world's final Gentile empire, is that money will be used as the ultimate form of control.
It will come in the form of a bio-digital implantable (or embedded) technology that puts the "mark" on the right hand or the forehead of the bearer. Interestingly, almost all nations going back to the days of the Roman Empire used the right hand to salute, thus indicating this new bio-digital currency will likely be tied in with some test of loyalty or fealty to the throne of the Antichrist.
We know by the midpoint he will (courtesy of the False Prophet) direct all peoples on the earth at that time to either worship the Antichrist as a god or face a gruesome execution. Even prior to that, without this mark, a person is essentially shut out of society, unable to buy, sell, or participate in any way. This means that there won't be private charities, government assistance, or any other form of public assistance available for people without a mark. You will essentially become the new bottom rung of the class of untouchables, similar to those of the Indian and Japanese caste systems.
He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Revelation 13:16-17
The he in "he causes all" is not the Antichrist, but the False Prophet. The Bible states he is able to call down fire from heaven, which may mean (given recent examples) he has access to certain militarized satellites and can either call down fire or through an implanted neurological device, control Directed Energy Strikes (DEW) against anyone who threatens him or the throne of the Beast.
He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. Rev. 13:13
Furthermore, he (the False Prophet) is able to give "life" to the image of the beast, such that requires all to bow down and worship the image or face execution.
And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. Rev. 13:14-15
Conclusion
Whether mankind reaches singularity first, or not at all, is almost entirely irrelevant because it is this author's position that what can't be brought to life by means of technological advancements, will be achieved by supernatural deception. This means that after the Rapture, the wicked fallen angels will be just as busy deceiving those earth dwellers with signs in the heavens, as they will falsely give life to inanimate objects on the earth. We know according to Genesis 11 that when mankind is united in purpose, there isn't much he can't achieve:
And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Genesis 11:6
Therefore, if we were to marry mankind's unchecked ambitions after the Rapture, with that of a powerful technological advancement, and the whole host of hell set loose to set up this final kingdom, you have a match made in hell so much so that if Jesus didn't return at the second coming, no flesh would survive (Matt. 24:22).
And so it will be that the world prior to Christ's return at the Rapture, will be just as distracted and deviant as it was in the days of Noah and Lot. They were blinded by the affairs of this world, and deceived into believing it would never end. While we may not have the supernatural incursions as they did in those pre flood generations, but today we have technologies that are not much better. In fact, given the aforementioned list, some technologies seem to be a direct result of malevolent supernatural influence by fallen and wicked entities. Moreover, many of these technologies are so frightening, Even many look at the governments and wonder who can stand against them...how much more will it be in that day when the Spirit no longer restrains the wicked?
“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:34-36
In closing, yes the world is increasingly growing dark and increasingly terrifying with each passing day. Yes these technologies increasingly consolidate more and more control, into fewer and fewer hands. The only way to ensure you won't be here to witness the horrors that will be unleashed upon the earth after the Rapture of the Church is to become rapture-ready.
Being rapture-ready isn't just about having the right pedigree, nationality, political party, denominational affiliations, or even correct eschatological understanding, but having placed the full sum of your faith and trust in the finished work of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. This is the Gospel, the Good News that God became a man in order to redeem sinful men from eternal damnation. Jesus was able to rise from the dead of His own accord, first and foremost, because the wages of sin is death (Romans 3:23, Rev. 1:18) and since Christ never sinned, He owed no wages and thus, death could not hold Him.
When you sincerely believe this, you are saved upon the moment of belief and God replaces your sins (all of them - past, present, and future) and gives you the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:17-21). You are then sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption (Eph. 1:11-14, 4:30). It is at this point, according to Scripture, that you not only become an overcomer (1 John 5:4-5) and made spiritually alive but you are also made worthy by God's goodness. It is then, that we are able to be caught up (harpazo) whenever the Lord returns in the air to take His Bride the Church home to be with Him forevermore (John 14:1-3, 1 Thess 4:13-18, 1 Cor 15:51-55, Rev. 3:10). All the power, might, and wonders of the earth can not hold a candle to even the mere shadow of heaven.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:4-7 (my emphasis)
Even so, Maranatha!
Mind-blowing! I don't understand all the technology, but I can see that the world is rushing to a disaster. When humanity was on the edge of destroying itself, God always interfered. From the Great Flood to Sodoma and Gomorrah. God destroyed the wicked before they could destroy the rest of humanity. Today we see many wicked trying to take over. Will God interfere this time? I believe so. Great article, Pere! Blessings! 🙏
Pete, you have a great mind for this.
1. Babel, part 2 (2, noticeably, albeit many mini-moments along the way) ...and once again, Yahweh knows exactly what to do.
2. For us... a. Pray/witness/store up/plant seeds...whatever can be done for the lost, the prayerful "future TribSaints." Write the letters, have the conversations, think "emergency supplies," including seeds and vitamins, Bibles and eschatological resources, however and wherever He leads, because IT WILL BE THEIR EMERGENCY. 2. Keep nonstop prayers rising for the persecuted church, 10/40 missional global window in particular, but may ALL forms of persecution, everywhere, be prayer-saturated. 3. Edify and encourage fellow watchers AND fellow true believers/Ekklesia. As Bro. Chooch says, we MAY let the latter touch our crown ("longing for His appearing") before we cast it at Jesus' feet…
Wow, this was so awesomeness and just when I think you have penned the best article along comes this , they beatats them all. Thanks, Pete, and know you and your family are in my prayers. It helps when you let us know any requests you have so that we your followers can hold you up in prayer.
Excellent read, thank you for the graph, it really helps with perspective.
