I was perusing a particular website and it suggested that when the Lord Jesus calls us up to be with Him, we don’t return to heaven, but rather stay with Him in the clouds, perhaps in some extradimensional space.
the reason for this is that none of the rapture passages, excepting John 14, mention anything about going anywhere after being caught up, and the John passage only says that we will be with Jesus, wherever He is.
an interesting observation, but from Revelation 5, we know exactly where Jesus is—in heaven, because He is the only One worthy to approach the throne and take the seven-sealed scroll. Therefore, we will be in heaven, too, since that’s where Jesus is. It says He is “in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.” The twenty-four elders, which I believe represent the Church, are there in heaven, too.
Thank you for sharing. This is a theory I haven't seen before. I agree with you in that a great deal of Revelation gives us a perspective of God's Throne in Heaven as judgement occurs. We also know that Jesus told us in His Father's House there are many mansions or dwelling places (John 14:1-4). I have another observation to consider. In Revelation 15:3, we see those who have the victory over the beast singing the song of Moses. When we look back at the Song of Moses in Exodus 15, there in the midst of this song about the triumph over Pharaoh, is what appears to be Rapture/future deliverance foreshadowing. I think it is intriguing that Moses said, "You have guided them in Your Strength to Your Holy Habitation." Holy Habitation is where The Lord is. We read that the people who witness this will be afraid of it. Of course, it applies to the deliverance of the Israelites. Yet I think it also prophesies to a future time. Notice he said, "You will bring them in." What do you think? "You in Your mercy have led forth The people whom You have redeemed; You have guided them in Your strength To Your holy habitation. The people will hear and be afraid; Sorrow will take hold of the inhabitants of Philistia. Then the chiefs of Edom will be dismayed; The mighty men of Moab, Trembling will take hold of them; All the inhabitants of Canaan will melt away. Fear and dread will fall on them; By the greatness of Your arm They will be as still as a stone, Till Your people pass over, O Lord , Till the people pass over Whom You have purchased. You will bring them in and plant them In the mountain of Your inheritance, In the place, O Lord , which You have made For Your own dwelling, The sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established." Exodus 15:13-17 NKJV
Cavalier, thank you for a solid and to-the-point analysis. I’ll see you there soon!☺️
Right. I think the confusion comes in where it states there will be a new Heaven and a new Earth. As great as being with the Lord and the Saints is now in Heaven1, I can’t even imagine how great Heaven2 will be with our glorified bodies!
