I've personally never thought there would be a gap of more than a few days/weeks/months to snap things into place for the Tribulation. My reasoning is that everything will continue to progress and converge until it is at the place of easy slide into the Tribulation, and then the Rapture will happen. Only God knows exactly when that moment is. It is fun to see others' gaps growing smaller as we progress. :)
