My son and I had an exciting conversation recently. He is grown, with a family of his own now. He is a believer and follower of Jesus Christ and he tends to be a deep thinker. However, he has become a follower of Reformed Theology and leans heavily toward the Doctrine of Election. He rejects concepts such as Dispensationalism and the Rapture. It seems that we are so far apart on the prophetic scriptures that I am often startled and speechless at how very different we see Mathew chapter 24, Mark chapter 13, Luke chapter 21, etc... When he refers to the statue in Daniel's dream and the Rock that ultimately destroys it all, he views that event as already having happened.
Would any of you have a good article, book, set of studies that would do a good job of comparinig and contrasting the two views of the scriptures?
Thanks!
Soteriology101.com is a good website (and YouTube channel/podcast) for countering false claims in Calvinistic reformed theology. It is directed by Dr. Leighton Flowers, a former Calvinist, who is now director of apologetics for Texas Baptists.
