Pentecost will be celebrated in 2025 on June 8 according to the Western Christian tradition.
According to my reckoning (which doesn't always align with the Roman Catholic Church rules for dating Easter), the Feast of Firstfruits (the Sunday after Passover - Nisan 14) is on Nisan 16 or April 13, 2025, this year. Forty-nine days later, on Sunday, June 1, 2025 (Sivan 5), Pentecost or Shavuot should occur. This year, the Jews reckon Shavuot begins at sunset (approximately 6:00 pm) when the day changes from Sunday, June 1, 2025, to Monday, June 2, 2025. So, it is basically on Monday, June 2, 2025, and Sivan 6 on their calendar for this year. They celebrate Shavuot for two days, which isn't biblical. See Shavuot, Pentecost, and the Rapture.
The only reason Shavuot and (biblically calculated) Pentecost are close this year is because the "counting of the Omer" (our Feast of Firstfruits) begins as it does every year, on Nisan 16. The rabbinical Jews (figurative descendants of the Pharisees) believe Nisan 15 is the Sabbath of Leviticus 23:15. I believe the Sadducees had it right (one of the few things) when they were in control of the temple during the time of Jesus, as they believed the Sabbath spoken of in Leviticus 23:15 was the Sunday after Passover. Firstfruits has to be within the seven days of Unleavened Bread.
Thanks Randy once again for your insight on the feasts and all thongs pertaining to Scripture.
